Tips and tricks on how to verify control loop stability with an oscilloscope

CPD 1 hour logo

This activity can contribute towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as part of the IET's CPD monitoring scheme

This E&T webinar deals with measuring the control loop stability of switch-mode power supplies. Every power supply has a feed-back loop that monitors the output voltage or current and keeps it within given limits. The control loop determines stability as well as key parameters like load response or start-up behaviour. Oscilloscopes provide a number of tools to analyse the control loop of power supplies.

We will be discussing the main measurement concept, emphasising the main topics, and describing the measurements from a pragmatist’s point of view. We complete this discussion by presenting proper measurement setups and advising key solution differentiators. By watching this webinar you will achieve excellent electrical performance and have confidence in your design.

Why should you watch this webinar?

  • Key learnings about measuring control loop stability
  • Key learnings about the right probing technique
  • Learn more about R&S oscilloscopes and how to get tasks done

This webinar is on demand. You can register now and watch immediately, or whenever you're ready. You can watch as many times as you want. Slides are available within the webinar, and you can register watching as Continual Professional Development (CPD).
