Bird-inspired robot transforms itself in mid-air to slip through gaps

Researchers based at Aix-Marseille Université have developed a robot capable of morphing in flight in order to fly through tight spaces. This could pave the way for exploration and search and rescue robots with the ability to travel unimpeded through small spaces.
