IAC wants to hear apprentices' views

The Industry Apprentice Council (IAC) is asking apprentices to answer an online survey that it hopes will help shape future campaigns, discussions with government and education organisations.

As well as ensuring their voices are heard at a national level, apprentices that take part will have the opportunity to win two tickets to the 2014 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix Practice Session at Silverstone, courtesy of F1 in Schools Ltd.

The survey, which closes on October 28th, can be found on the EAL website.

The IAC’s members are all industry apprentices from around the UK working for companies including Airbus, BAE Systems, Caunton Engineering, National Grid, Nestlé, Rolls Royce and Vauxhall.

“All IAC members are current apprentices themselves and have first-hand experience of the vocational route and careers information, advice and guidance in schools. However, it’s important we hear from others as well, to give us a bigger picture of the apprenticeships landscape, from the apprentices’ point of view,” says Sam Ball, a member of the IAC and an apprentice at MBDA.

“We want to give apprentices a national voice – something we have not had before - so it’s important that we hear from as many apprentices as possible for us to do that. The survey is one way we are trying to engage with other industry apprentices.”
