The IET is offering recently qualified, job hunting graduates a free one-day workshop this May.
If you are out of work or still trying to get a job more related to your skills, then a fresh approach may be just what you need. The IET’s Benevolent Fund IET Connect has teamed up with a careers support specialist to offer three free one-day workshops across the UK. Held in London (23 May), Birmingham (24 May) and Glasgow (25 May), the workshops aim to give recently qualified engineers the tools to be competitive in today’s job market.
The workshops will help attendees outline an effective, fit-for-purpose CV selected from a variety of formats, produce letters and application forms that put them ahead of the rest, gain access to a market specific LinkedIn network group and enhance their interview performances through a clearer understanding of what they have to offer and what the interviewer wants to hear.
All attendees will also be given complimentary access to extensive online support for six months.
"We are delighted to be able to help engineers kick-start their careers with these free graduate workshops. IET Connect is here to support IET members at all stages of their lives," says IET Connect ceo Christine Oxland.
