Whether you are about to take exams or write your dissertation the IET library is the perfect resource for your preparation…
Why not take advantage of one of the IET’s top resources for students: its library. Wherever you are around the world it’s easy to search the library catalogue online and there’s a free of charge outbound postal service. UK members can take ten books on loan or three for those residing outside the UK.
The ever growing virtual library is another resource not to be missed. It’s completely free and only requires your member log-in for immediate access. You will find hundreds of up to date e-books on engineering and IT and there’s several databases for full text journals, reports, news items, market trends and tuition summaries.
If the London home of the IET is convenient for you, the IET library reading room is a relaxing place to study in beautiful surroundings. It’s open 0900 – 1700 GMT weekdays and most of the world-class collection can be browsed on the shelves or fetched for you in a jiffy.
IET research service
Do you need help with a literature search or finding relevant material? Then use the IET Research service. Quick searches can sometimes be done for free otherwise a discounted member rate may apply.

Have you identified articles for your literature review but haven’t found the full text? Use The IET library’s document supply service and for a small copyright fee the papers will be emailed or posted to you (often a same day service). If visiting the library reading room, many of the journals are available for you to photocopy yourself.
