HP 'desktop server' aimed at SMEs

HP has launched a Proliant Microserver positioned for enable small-to-medium sized enterprises wanting to build out their own server estates.

Built primarily for organisations with fewer than 10 staff members, the HP ProLiant MicroServer claims to be 50 per cent quieter than most entry-level servers.

The units come with a standard specification, and a UK price of £219.00.

“Smaller businesses have relied traditionally on interconnected PCs to share files and resources, but this doesn’t help them keep pace with a competitive environment,” says HP’s vice president, Marketing, Industry Standard Servers, Jim Ganthier. “The Proliant Microsever is a compact server that fits into office environments with quiet operations.”
