Euro 2012 venue gets ICT network go-ahead

Warsaw’s  new National Stadium is to get an ICT network from Paris-based integrator NextiraOne.

The multi-functional facility’s new system, which is being prepared for major sporting events such as the EURO 2012 football championship, will support applications including video surveillance, and video transmission.

Applications for automated systems, such as for ticket sales, and the security of the facility, will also form part of the network infrastructure’s remit; and it will provide the platform for voice communication, data transmission and Internet access.

The terms of the agreement between NextiraOne and Narodowe Centrum Sportu specify the network to be commissioned by February next year (2011).
