Global Unichip licences batch of ARM cores

Design services company Global Unichip has licensed a bundle of cores from ARM’s intellectual property (IP) portfolio including all the available ARM Cortex general-purpose and Mali graphics processors, physical IP and  peripherals.

“With the coming era of cloud computing, connectivity and energy efficiency is critical for end devices to be able to deliver content anywhere, anytime. Consumers today desire their devices to be ‘always on’ without worrying about battery life while at the same time delivering superior multimedia features and a high quality entertainment experience,” said Jim Lai, president of Global Unichip. “This agreement with ARM will enable us to accelerate the time-to-market for device manufacturers aiming to meet these demands.”
