Top recruiters in engineering IT and construction announced
Airbus, Microsoft and Atkins were named the best in their field at attracting graduates at the 2010 TARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards.
Airbus won the title of most popular graduate recruiter in the engineering, design and manufacture category (sponsored by the IET’s very own E&T magazine), Microsoft topped the list for IT and telecoms, and Atkins was named favourite in the construction and civil engineering sector (for the fifth consecutive year).
Thousands of students voted on the organisations they felt made the most effort on campus, through advertising and via social networking to recruit them.
“We’re very pleased to be recognised as a popular graduate recruiter in this category, as we are proud of our graduate programme,” said Nigel Jones, head of employment, Airbus UK.
“The opportunities Airbus provides enable those who join our company to make a real difference to the aerospace industry. Our graduates are involved in work in the forefront of aviation technology and innovation, and can experience working in Airbus’s global network.”
Karen Wallbridge, head of recruitment at Atkins, said: “This award is a huge achievement for Atkins, demonstrating that students on campus continue to highly rate the company as a prospective employer.
“Having won the award for five years consecutively, it rewards the continued efforts of many people to ensure our reputation as a top graduate employer is maintained.”
