Samsung launches Android app competition no software coding needed

Samsung has launched a £2,000 competition to find the best Android application for their phones. And, for once, the competition doesn't require coding expertise – only a good idea.

The competition, running until 16 April, on the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Portal, will see the winning entry created by a "top developer". Judges are Suzy Perry, presenter, The Gadget Show and Jon Carney, CEO, Marvellous. Entries can include a picture and/or video as well as 200-word description.

The winning entrant receives £2,000 and a Samsung Galaxy Portal i5700 phone (as do four runners-up).
