LNG carrier control upgrade

Yokogawa Electric Corporation’s Malaysian subsidiary has recently completed the replacement of an LNG carrier’s integrated control systems (IAS) for cargo and machinery as part of a Longevity Project undertaken by the owner, International Gas Transportation Company Limited (IGTC).

The Longevity Project is being carried out in consultation with Northwest Shelf Shipping Service Company (NWSSSC).

Yokogawa replaced the integrated control systems (IAS) for cargo and machinery operations, including boiler control, which encompassed engineering, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning services for the CENTUM VP Integrated Production Control System.

Yokogawa has also been awarded the contract to carry out a similar replacement on one of the carrier’s sister ships.
