Top engineering work placements announced

No point doing a work placement if it’s rubbish: check out the new internship awards naming the top firms, as voted by young engineers who actually did the work experience in the first place.

The first National Placement and Internship Awards, run by http://www.ratemyplacement.co.uk/, were announced this week.

The engineering outfits in the top 20 Best Placement and Internship Employers were:

Microsoft (overall winner)

Intel

BAE Systems Submarine Solutions

National Grid

Cummins

Rolls Royce

IBM

Best Small or Medium Enterprise prize was carried off by CRM software developer ProspectSoft and the Best New Provider of work experience went to RIM.

Meanwhile, if you’re at Brunel uni, rejoice, for  you have the best University Placement or Careers Service, while Aston students are at the top University with a Forward Thinking Attitude to Work Based Learning.

Find out how the voting worked, and who else to look out for in the search for work experience, at http://www.ratemyplacement.co.uk/articles/ratemyplacement-awards/.
