TomTom app for iPhone now available

In-vehicle satellite navigation device manufacturer TomTom has launched a navigation application for the iPhone.

The company says that, instead of using travel time assumptions, the software will base its routes on the actual experience of millions of drivers to calculate the fastest route and generate more accurate arrival times. The company claims that it can provide routing information which will allow its drivers to arrive 35 per cent quicker than its rivals.

The application also comes with a safety camera database including verified safety camera information in 11 European countries.

“TomTom is the most natural fit for an advanced navigation application on the iPhone,” said Corinne Vigreux, managing director of TomTom.

The TomTom app for iPhone including map of western Europe is available for £79.99 and a version with just a map of UK & Ireland available for £59.99.
