'Confidence in Cloud Computing is growing': survey
Business managers’ are feeling more confident about the security of third party data centres, according to a survey by business ISP Star.
Conducted with more than 100 UK business managers and directors, highlights a shift in attitudes towards security of services delivered via the Cloud Computing model, Star says, adding that its findings contrast with results from an October 2008 IDC study which cited security as the top concern - above performance and availability - with the same model.
Star’s survey also examined Managers’ key business challenges for 2009. The biggest challenge for 38 per cent of managers was the need to reduce costs. This was followed by the desire to grow their core business (36 per cent), find operational performance improvements (20 per cent), and access new technologies (6 per cent).
