RIM launches new globetrotting smartphone in US

Research In Motion has launched is latest smartphone, The Blackberry Tour in the US for use on the Sprint network in the US only with no word as yet on when or even if it will be sold in other territories.

The phone comes with a 480 X 360 at 245 ppi plus intuitive trackball navigation, a full QWERTY keyboard. It also includes a 3.2 MP camera with variable zoom, auto focus, flash and image stabilisation.

It is also equipped with GPS and location-based services and will support both US based CDMA networks as well as 3G and GSM networks.

A spokesperson for the company could not confirm the availability of the device in the UK or other territories.
