Indian IT players move to build better UK links

The heads of a collective of Indian IT companies will meet tomorrow (11 February) with UK parliamentarians, with the aim of bringing India’s public sector IT expertise to British public sector IT programmes in Britain.

Players such as Tata Consultancy Services (which employs over 5000 people in the UK), and HCL (which employs over 2000 people in the UK), will meet in London with the parliamentary group set-up to push the UK-India economic relationship up the UK political agenda. It includes former cabinet Ministers Patricia Hewitt MP and Charles Clarke MP. Trade Minister Gareth Thomas MP will also be present, it is understood.

Those who will be represented at the meeting are Tata Consultancy Services, Tata, Firstsource UK, NIIT Technologies, ITC Infotech, Infosys Technologies, and HCL Technologies.
