EA connects mobile phone and console platforms with new release

Games developer Electronic Arts (EA) has released its first title that is designed to function across multiple platforms.

With the launch of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09 for mobile phones, the EA mobile division of Electronic Arts claimed the first integration of a mobile phone game feature that can ‘influence’ the console edition of the same title.

The game’s ‘Console Boost’ feature allows connected Xbox 360 and Playstation3 players the opportunity to improve their skill level when they play the mobile version of the game.

The points earned by playing the mobile game are stored in the registered customer’s EA account. Once the players apply the Console Boost to their Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 accounts, they see an immediate increase in the skill levels of their athletes.

The new game will initially be launched in North America.
