Science Minister to address IET Innovation Awards
Minister of State for Science and Innovation Ian Pearson MP will be the keynote speaker at the Institution of Engineering and Technology Innovation Awards. The awards celebrate the products, technologies, and processes, that lead the way in engineering innovation.
The UK can only succeed in a globalised world by producing innovative, high-value products and services, Pearson said: “Engineering and technology are a very important aspect of this work - new technologies have the potential to make a real difference to society and to people’s everyday lives. Cleaner, greener technology is just one example where there are opportunities to be seized”.
The Labour MP for Dudley South added: “Engineers are essential to the process of turning new innovative ideas into practical products and services. They have the vision to conceive new solutions, and to deliver well designed products and services to match customer needs.”
The Innovation Awards incorporates 15 award categories: Asset Management, Built Environment, Electronics, Emerging Technologies, Information Technology, Power and Energy, Product Design, Project Team, Robotics, Control and Instrumentation, Security, Software in Design, Start-ups, Sustainability; Telecommunications and Transport.
