Dobbies gets 'root and branch' systems upgrade
Dobbies Garden Centres has inked an agreement with BT Expedite to roll out a complete integrated merchandising and stock replenishment solution to revamp its business processes. Designed for merchandising and warehouse customers, the system will synchronise all functions within the merchandising cycle.
From buying, distribution, replenishment, pricing, through to sales reporting, the system will allow the company to increase its speed of response to shifts in customer demand, improving stock availability and allowing head office to have a clear picture of operations across the entire organisation.
BT’s retail specialist division BT Expedite will implement its merchandising planning system, which will enable the garden centre chain to keep category and store plans aligned and allow for automatic stock replenishment. Dobbies will also utilise BT Expedite’s Business Objects solution for its reporting requirement, giving head-office access to business-critical information about all of its 23 outlets. BT will project manage the entire implementation and physical configuration of Dobbies’ hardware at its head office and branch retail outlets.
