Sondrel and Delta team for ASIC services down to 45nm

Sondrel and Delta Microelectronics have signed an agreement enabling the provision of proven design-to-production services for customers requiring ASICs across the full range of technologies down to 45nm.

Operating under the title NanoComplete, the programme combines the design, test and production handling at Delta’s facilities with Sondrel’s design and layout services to provide one of the most comprehensive ASIC offerings available in Northern Europe.

The aim is to provide organisations with a way of sourcing complex designs through a single point of contact and a local source. By working together, Sondrel and Delta said they are able to implement designs using the latest low-power and design-for-manufacture techniques, develop and prove silicon with complex test equipment and carry out ongoing yield management and enhancement during production.

Per Ølund, managing director at Delta, said: “Sondrel is the best possible fit for integration of IP and delivering layout services in the latest technologies. Their investment in the most advanced methodologies and tools, coupled with experienced engineers and a comprehensive understanding of the technology challenges, ensures a reliable and high quality solution for implementing and delivery of components, even down to 45nm technology.”

Graham Curren, CEO of Sondrel, added: “Delta offers a well proven and effective route to volume silicon. This agreement couples the benefits of our IC consultancy with the cost effective supply chain from Delta.”
