Hannover Messe 2011

The second of three previews of Hannover Messe 2011 highlights some of the key exhibitor activities of interest to manufacturing professionals.

Manufacturing professionals have to acquire close understanding of a broad range of technologies that interoperate and complement each other in the manufacturing sector, and efficiency is now a driving consideration within that industry.

Thirteen flagship international trade fairs form part of Hannover Messe 2011 (Hannover, Germany, 4-8 April) under the 'Smart Efficiency' theme, presenting products and solutions aimed at cost reduction, process efficiency optimisation, and resource conservation throughout the manufacturing production chain.

More than 1,300 exhibitors will be showcasing trends and innovations in the power transmission and fluid power sectors on a display area of over 50,000m2 – in both the dedicated Motion, Drive and Automation (MDA) exhibition halls, and at the Wind and Industrial Automation flagship fairs. Industrial Automation is the fair for factory and process automation, and related systems.

The process automation section focuses on sector-specific solutions for industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and food, the metalworking sector, the car industry, the energy industry, and electrical engineering.

The production automation section will present a wide array of integrated automation solutions, as well as innovations in mechanical engineering, and electric power transmission and control. Compressed air and vacuum technology are integral to many manufacturing processes: ComVac Eco Park (Hall 26) presents trends and developments in generation, treatment and distribution, as well as applications in machinery and systems.

CoilTechnica – showcasing technologies for manufacture of coils, electric motors, generators and transformers – main display categories include coil components and accessories, insulation materials, winding technology and production equipment, electronic components, accessories, and systems for testing, measuring and diagnostics.
