Objections to signing the oath:
- 1. Other professions can get by perfectly well without an oath. Why do engineers need one?
- 2. Right-thinking members of society are well aware of what is right and wrong and do not require any further guidance.
- 3. Swearing the oath is one thing; adhering to it another.
- 4. It is old-fashioned and patronising.
