Acknowledging Excellence in Engineering - The 2007 Sir Henry Royce Award

Are you a young Engineering or I.T. Professional who has shown excellence in the previous year in your work in industry or for the profession? If the answer is 'Yes', then you may wish to submit a nomination for the 2007 Sir Henry Royce Award!

This Award is presented annually to a Young Professional who has demonstrated outstanding achievement or innovative thinking during an Engineering or I.T. Project or an unusual commitment to their academic or professional development.

Prize: The winner receives a £250 Cash Prize and a Medal. Deadline: 31 May 2007

Written Premium Competition - Win a Trip around the World!

The winner will travel around the world, presenting their winning paper in 3 countries of their choice. The winner will also feature in Institution of Engineering and Technology publications and will, of course, get some free time at each stop to simply see the sights!

All you have to do is write a paper (2000-3000 words) on a topic appropriate to the activities of the Institution and forward it to younger@iee.org by 31 May 2007.

Dive Track - Product Design Competition - Win a £5000 Prize!

In 2006-7, the Institution of Engineering and Technology is supporting a one-off product design competition in memory of Penny Glover, a member who died whilst diving. DiveTrack is co-sponsored by the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC).

The competition is to design a device which can be worn by a diver and that both responds to an acoustic signal from a standard echo sounder, and enables the diver to send a signal alerting those on the surface that a problem has occurred.
